IT Network Technician Apprentice

Having had great success hiring apprentices in the past (who are still thriving within the business!), We are welcoming another IT Network Technician apprentice to join our friendly team!

As a managed service provider, we specialise in Voice, Connectivity, IT and Mobile technologies. We provide IT service and support to many companies and have even worked on large projects for organisations such as the NHS.

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A typical day in the job

  • Provide technical support to both internal and external customers through a range of communication channels.
  • Establish and diagnose ICT problems/faults using the required troubleshooting methodology and tools.
  • Communicate with all levels of stakeholders, talking them through steps to take to resolve issues or set up systems, keeping them informed of progress and managing escalation and expectations.
  • Apply appropriate testing methodologies to hardware or software or cabling assets.
  • Document or escalate ICT tasks as appropriate to ensure a clear audit trail and progression of issues.
  • Complete cabling tasks for example coaxial, copper, fibre or remote.
  • Administer mobile devices on a network.
  • Deliver network tasks prioritising security with a view to mitigating and defending against security risks.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

Desired qualities, skills and knowledge

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Unified Communications.
  • Knowledge and understanding of hardware/software would be beneficial.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Passionate about learning.
  • Grade 4 in Maths and Grade 4 in English (or equivalent).

  • Monday – Friday
  • 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • 40 Hours per week
  • £14,000 Per Annum

This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in with IT networks. Afterwards, we’ll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 Network Engineer qualification.

Your training with Baltic Apprenticeships

Start your IT career and get the skills you need to install, configure, and optimise IT networks with our Level 3 apprenticeship. You’ll get hands-on experience working on physical and cloud networks, and develop in-demand industry knowledge, including Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, and Linux.

With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll gain the skills and qualifications you need to launch your career in an exciting, ever-evolving industry.

You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.

With a Baltic Apprenticeship, you’ll be on your way to a long-term career in the IT industry. On completion of their apprenticeship programme, 95% of our learners remain in full-time employment or progress onto a higher-level apprenticeship.
